COBI

Since the Ukraine war at the latest, the Panzerhaubitze 2000 has been on everyone’s lips again. In cooperation with the Munster Tank Museum, COBI has created exactly the model that can be seen there.

When a model gets a new version, it should of course be better than its predecessor. I took a closer look to see whether this is also the case with the new Challenger 2 from COBI.

In 1944, a Chevrolet truck was transformed into an armored vehicle in just a few days. Of course, it doesn’t take quite as long to build the authentic model from COBI.

Since both models are very similar, I built them in one go. After all, the Flakpanzer Wirbelwind is based on the Panzer IV and has only minimal differences in the hull.

Shortly after the new Tiger 131, another Tiger from COBI is coming out, which essentially only differs in its camouflage colors. The construction of the two models is almost identical.

For the first time, COBI has also launched the King Tiger in a 1:35 mini-figure scale. In some cases, this model even has more details than its big brother in 1:28 scale.

Even though Japan was a major participant in World War II, it has been neglected in models to date. However, this extremely detailed aircraft carrier Akagi changes that.

It’s been a while since COBI tried to build an IS-3 again. But this new model has all the advantages that we first saw on the new Tiger.

Many people no longer believed it, but after countless Tiger and Sherman variations, COBI has finally brought the first, albeit small, Japanese tank onto the market.

I have already built the little brothers. In addition to the existing 1:28 and 1:35 sets, there is now also a 1:12 model that at least matches the 8000-piece Tiger 131 in terms of size.

In most cases, copies are not welcome. In this case, however, it is an excellent idea and also superbly implemented. 1275 parts have to compete with 8000 parts.

As part of the 80th D-Day anniversary, COBI quickly brought this set onto the market, among others. Of course, a swimming test is a must here.
