Construction
The construction of the IL-2 follows the classic pattern. First, a base of plates is created for the wings, which is then tiled. After that, COBI’s special tiles with nubs for reinforcement are attached from below. The undercarriage has extra large tires and cannot therefore be fully submerged. The hull is again built in two parts and connected via 2 tiles.
After the cockpit has also been built, the fuselage can be placed on the wing construction and the propeller attached. The base is larger and offers an innovation. The connection to the aircraft is transparent and therefore less visible than its black predecessor. Thanks to the nubs, the two pilots can be placed, which looks good on the shelf.
Conclusion:
The structure is nothing special and is more like older models. But after a long time it is finally a Soviet aircraft again.
