COBI 2575 – Sturmgeschütz IV – StuG 4 – Limited Edition (Speed Build Review)

With this set I once again treated myself to the Limited Edition. The oversized, slanted side skirts were worth the surcharge, especially since the normal version even comes without figures.

Construction

The substructure of the tub consists of a solid block, which makes you wonder where there is still room for the interior design. But the question will be answered quickly when the engine is built. This takes up the entire rear. Then it’s the turn of the chains, which are running quite well. They only wiggle around a bit on slippery surfaces. Now we continue with the construction. Since there is no turret, we put up walls and prepare the interior for the cannon.

The barrel can be moved in all directions and reaches far into the interior. In the next steps, the entire area will be covered with removable covers. At this point you have already completed the standard model. There are no additional accessories and no minifigure. Everything that comes now is only included in the Limited Edition. The side skirts are not simply placed on the side. They get a slant and give the tank destroyer a great look. So it’s really worth going for the limited edition here, even if it’s significantly more expensive, since you can only get it directly from COBI. As additional accessories, we are now building a small stand for the motor, rolls of barbed wire, sandbags and an engraved nameplate. 2 minifigures are also included.

Conclusion:

Luckily, COBI chose the 1:28 scale for this set. This offers significantly more possibilities for beautiful details. In the end it is a somewhat expensive but very nice model for the showcase.
