Instructions
Construction
The two wings are built in the first construction steps and then connected via a plate. Unfortunately, I used the wrong stickers here. The little stars should have belonged on the wings. However, Sluban has special stickers where the pure motif is transferred. Although this looks like an imprint, it can no longer be removed or corrected without destroying it. The front of the F-16 looks a little bulky and way too bulky. However, there is no other way to solve it if you do not use special molded parts. Next, almost the entire tiled area is covered with stickers.
Since no molded parts are used at the rear either, the wings and tail unit naturally look quite clumsy. The entire lower part including the chassis is built separately. Unlike COBI, Sluban does not use tiles for the underside of the wings. However, they are still very stable and do not fall apart with every touch. No molded parts are used in the last section either. Tanks and armament are also built from common stones. The minifigure can only be placed in the cockpit if you do not put the included straps on it. The very bulbous cockpit glass cannot be opened on this model.
Conclusion:
Considering the fact that Sluban almost exclusively uses building blocks that are also known from the market leader, the model doesn’t look that bad. Of course, the F-16 from COBI looks much more authentic, but they also use a lot of molded parts that other manufacturers don’t have. In terms of price, we are only about half the price that COBI is asking for.
