Construction
Despite the scale of 1:35, this model has an interior and a fully built engine. This ensures rather little stability during construction. If you press from above, the entire floor comes off. The tracks on this set run excellently and don’t snag once. There are plenty of stickers on the side skirts. Unfortunately these are not the nice transfer stickers. After the rather wobbly tanks have been attached and the hull has been tiled, it’s the turn of the turret. This has countless details that must be perfectly aligned, otherwise the turret cannot be rotated.
The first variation, a T-80BVM, is ready. For the T-80U the hull must be partially dismantled. Unfortunately there are no spare parts and you have to remove stickers. While primarily only the side skirts are changed, the turret has to be built from scratch. Based on the stickers, you should decide in advance on one of the two variants.
Conclusion:
For little money you get a nice T-80 with lots of details. The biggest drawback are the stickers. You get simple paper stickers instead of the much nicer transfers and you can’t easily switch between models due to the lack of spare parts. Because the turret is being completely rebuilt, it would be advisable to buy the set twice anyway.
