With the Challenger 2, I am building a modern tank that has been on the market for several years. In contrast to new models, there are some serious differences.

Instructions

The instructions of this older model do not differ from current instructions, apart from the missing parts list at the end. Only the new bricks to be set are shown in color. So they stand out well from the greyed out rest. The 625 parts are divided into 3 construction phases with a total of 67 construction steps.

Construction

The rather large tank starts with large plates as a base and is then pulled up quickly by large bricks. This section is going very quickly because we barely dwell on details.

The hull is widened with plates and with hinges we realize the foldable side armor. Now the first small details come into play. Finally, we cover the entire hull with tiles.

2 different versions are used as castors for this model. Thanks to the wide variant, the tracks can be built and pulled up quite easily. The substructure is now completely finished and we can take care of the turret.

The gun from this turret is not built, but consists of 2 molded parts that only have to be put together. Overall, the turret is quite large, but also very simple. The entire model has no great details, no stickers or prints.

Conclusion:

The Challenger is big and massive. However, you will not find any details or any labels. He’s not really a beauty. The construction is quite simple.
