To mark the 10th anniversary of the popular game World of Tanks, COBI and Wargaming have released a very special version of the IS-7. The details were definitely not skimpy here.
|Building Time ca.:||4 Hours|
With 194 construction steps, these instructions are a bit thicker than usual. The parts list at the end alone extends over 3 pages. It should quickly become clear to the many small parts that many details are attached to the IS-7. The layout of these instructions is the same as before. New construction steps are shown in color and all previous steps are grayed out. The construction steps were divided into 3 construction sections.
This set starts with an 8 x 16 and two 4 x 8 plates, onto which the mountings for the rollers are placed. Then it goes up with large bricks and, as is usually the case, the front and rear are built separately and attached to the hull.
The motor does not consist of 2 molded parts, as was the case with the normal IS-7. The machine is built entirely from bricks and looks really nice. It continues with the superstructures of the hull and the side skirts.
Front and rear armor are built separately and attached to the hull. They are only connected on one side with studs. The other side holds because they are wedged by the design. After the hull has been tiled, the castors continue.
The chains were a bit wobbly at first and had to be adjusted a little. After that, however, they ran quite well even on smooth surfaces. A little decoration and details are added to the bathtub before the turret continues.
The turret of this model is quite massive and bristling with details. After a base of plates and a reversal of the construction direction has been created, the armor is built separately and attached all around. The original was equipped with 8 machine guns, so a lot of effort was made with the only machine gun. It is built in a complex and really cannot be overlooked. The turret also gets plenty of details from molded and printed parts.
Finally we just build the big 130mm gun. Since this is the special edition for a game, a small printed computer and a player should of course not be missing.
Only recently was an IS-7 released, which was also quite complex. But a lot of effort has been put into this special edition. So far, for me, it is one of the most beautiful tank models that COBI has released.
