Panlos 637010 – IOWA Class Battleship (Speed Build Review)

Change language to: de_DE Deutsch

Panlos is now also daring to make ship models, which until now have only been known from COBI. However, they are consistently smaller and contain useless game features at the expense of stability.

Construction

In contrast to the ships from COBI, Panlos builds the ships modularly. First, the bow including deck and armament is completely finished. Wheels are integrated into this, which are rather annoying during assembly and always come loose when stones are pressed from above. The middle section consists of a hollow hull on which the finished deck is then placed. Only then is the fuselage closed at the sides.

The bow and middle section are linked via 3 Technic pins, which is not particularly stable. The two slopes, which are supposed to fix the whole thing on the sides, keep coming loose because the side extensions are under tension and are therefore not straight. The stern is built and connected to the rest in the same way. The rear wheels drive the 4 drive shafts, which is a rather useless game feature. The set is not stable enough for playing.

Conclusion:

If you cannot or do not want to pay the significantly higher price of COBI or do not have the space for a larger model, you will get a very respectable ship model. Otherwise I would rather use COBI.
