Construction
The build starts with a series of narrow plates that make everything a bit unstable. The rollers are then placed on these and the chains are then pulled up. These work surprisingly well. The further construction of the hull is quite unspectacular. The stone quality is quite good. However, the stickers are still in the old version and look quite shabby on the bricks. There are also no additional bricks for the second set. So you have to peel off the stickers and stick the new ones on.
After some separately built parts like the rear and the front, the hull is completely tiled and we can devote ourselves to the turret. This consists of a base made from a reversal of construction direction, to which the armor is then attached all around. This is shaped by several ball joints. Finally, 3 figures and a little decoration have to be built.
In order to build the second set, almost the entire hull has to be removed again. Only the rear can be left unchanged. Then the new construction takes place. The side armor has an unusual construction technique and is quite fragile. The end result is still impressive.
Conclusion:
Even if the quality of last year’s model doesn’t quite match the current quality from Sluban, it’s still a very nice and inexpensive set. If you also want to place the stickers, you should choose one of the two models. In the event of a later conversion, some of the stickers have to be removed again and thus destroyed.
